Our Goals

The goals of the I'm So Glad Film Project are to:

1) Illuminate for a diverse audience the rich cultural heritage of Kansas City's Black gospel music, tracing back to the Spirituals,

2) Illustrate through compelling stories and performances how gospel music helped to knit together the fabric of Black America during troubled times,

3) Preserve the music of Black Kansas City area performers and bring attention to Kansas City's own jazz-and-blues-tinged sound.
